Charity Sale Supporting Juvenile Arthritis Research

Charlotte Sangers is 13 years old and hopes to raise money for Juvenile Arthritis research at her yard sale this Sunday.

WOODSTOCK - Juvenile Arthritis is a very rare disease but still affects thousands of kids and teens across Canada, according to arthritisresearch.ca and the Arthritis Foundation.

Charlotte Sangers is a 13-year-old from Woodstock who is affected by Juvenile Arthritis. She is raising money for an organization that specializes in her condition called Cassie and Friends.

Charlotte's mom, Marissa Sangers explains how many people live with this disease. "25,000 kids across Canada who are affected by Juvenile Arthritis or other Rhuematic diseases.   I know for Charlotte, she was showing symptoms at 2 years old.  Finally, after her 3rd birthday, she was diagnosed, and now we are 10 years later."

Marissa provides a preview of the upcoming event.

"We have our yard sale, bake sale, lemonade stand, craft sale, all of the things, and it just keeps growing year after year.  Tons of clothing with name brands, with tags on clothing and it's all raising money for awareness."

The charity sale will be happening at 1373 Caen Avenue in Woodstock on Sunday, August 16th. It starts at 7:30 a.m. and will finish at 1:00 p.m.

Marissa stopped by the Heart FM Dan & Marcie Morning Show with her daughter Charlotte to promote the upcoming event, and you can listen to the full interview below.
