For part of his tour, 11-year-old Sascha Bogart received a swag bag of memorabilia from the City and took photos with Mayor Trevor Birtch.
WOODSTOCK - Schools may be closed but that did not stop one 11-year-old Woodstock boy from getting a lesson in municipal politics from the city's top politician.
Mayor Trevor Birtch heard that Sascha Bogart was a big fan of City Hall and read What's On Woodstock magazine cover to cover, so when they met for the first time, the Mayor invited Sascha to sit in on a council meeting.
Although Sascha was part of a virtual video meeting he thinks it municipal politics is something worthwhile for his Winchester School classmates to learn about.
"Well I would tell them that you get to learn about City Hall meetings work and you get a tour of City Hall, which is pretty cool."
Part of the tour for Sascha included a swag bag of City memorabilia and photos with Mayor Birtch. Mayor Birtch is extending an invitation to any student who wants to learn more about City Hall to make an appointment and he will be happy to meet with them.
