The Town of Tillsonburg is celebrating its 200th birthday with Founders Fest.
TILLSONBURG - Founders Fest is coming to Tillsonburg.
The event will take place on Saturday, and Kate Bakos, Cultural Heritage Manager/Curator at Annandale Heritage Site, shares the reason behind Founders Fest.
"We're celebrating the 200th anniversary of the town's founding with a full day of festivities. The day begins with a pancake breakfast provided by Chrissy's Catering from 8 to 12 in the Lions Auditorium in the Tillsonburg Community Center."
Bakos mentions that there will be a commemorative tree planting at 10:30 a.m., and the opening ceremony will take place at noon, featuring the Ingersoll Pipe Band. She adds there will be fireworks to close out the night, which are scheduled to begin at dusk. Bakos says there will be a small cost for a portion of the festivities.
"The pancake breakfast is $5 per person, and then other than that, the rest of the day is a community event, free of charge."
