Another year is seen as a success for the Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive has concluded for another year.
For weeks people were able to donate toys, stuffed animals or money to help give children in the hospital over Christmas a gift. Tarnya Petch is the mom of the creator Nolan, and she says how this year turned out.
"It was excellent. We filled a 10-foot cargo van. We donated several bags of toys, 12 bags of stuffed animals, along with $675 worth of cash and gift cards."
She adds that the Woodstock Navy Vets helped out greatly by holding a fill-the-net event at their home game on the 13th. Petch mentions that the usual person they deal with at the Hospital is on maternity leave, so a new person came to get the donations this year.
"She came down by herself, expecting a few gifts. She was a little overwhelmed by the amount that we had. It was a smaller amount than we're used to, but it was still a great response."
Petch mentions that the donations were dropped off at the hospital this past Tuesday. Petch wants to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and made this campaign a success.
