Room is still available to sign up for the best ball tournament on Saturday at the Woodstock Meadows
WOODSTOCK - Golf Balls will be flying through the air come Saturday morning at the Woodstock Meadows for the Annual Fore for Shan Golf Tournament.
The charity group, Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness For Young Women, have set a goal to reach the same amount of money as last year and the Coordinator with the Fore for Shan Golf Tournament, Rob Larson, explains why they raise money and where it will be going. "The charity like Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women you need the funds, you need the money, to do the awareness campaign. Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women does events right across the country, as a matter of fact the funds that we raise in this golf tournament go for local projects, we like to keep local money, in the local area."
Following the untimely death of 24 year old Shanna Larson from breast cancer her family including father Rob knows the importance of getting your body checked by your physician. "Breast cancer is affecting young women and they're some ways to make sure that breast cancer isn't there, or at least a chance to find it early. The objective of this is early detection because the result for the cancer victim are much better if you catch it early."
Larson adds how much money they hope to raise that will all go back into the community. "We'd like to raise about the same as we raised last year which was about $10,000. If we can raise $10,000 that will help us with the local campaigns, this is the 6th annual, and every year we just get so much support and we are just looking forward to a great day of golf." Those looking to join the tournament or to donate money can do so by contacting Rob Larson directly at 519 535-1503.
