WITAAR sold 192 units in May and it had 403 new residential listings at the end of the month.
OXFORD - The local real estate market is starting to gain some momentum in Oxford County.
The Woodstock, Ingersoll, Tillsonburg and Area Association of Realtors (WITAAR) sold 192 units last month, which is a 15 percent increase compared to the same time last year.
President Derek de Jonge says it's also the highest we've seen in the past five years for May.
"May was an encouraging month for the local housing market, with sales rising from both last year and from April, reaching the highest May total since 2021 and the highest single month sales total since March 2022. New listings also surged, marking one of the highest monthly totals on record."
The real estate board had 403 new residential listings at the end of the month, which is about 26 percent higher than the 10 year average for May.
The average home sold for $611,357 last month, which is about a three-percent increase compared to May, 2025.
