As of today, when you walk in to Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll as a visitor, you must pass a visitor screening before being given clearance to enter. New restrictions are now in place for all hospital visitors.
INGERSOLL - As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, one local hospital is responding with changes to their visitation guidelines to protect both patients and staff.
Effective today, Alexandra Hospital's visiting hours are being restricted to essential visitors only.
Essential visitors are those who are visiting a patient who is critically ill or requiring end-of-life care, or is a substitute decision maker in an instance where treatment decisions are required.
All children attending the Emergency Department can have only one guardian present. Those deemed as essential visitors must pass screening at the Emergency Department entrance.
