The coveted "Trivia Trophy" was awarded at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Trivia Night.
WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters trivia night was the most successful of it's 14 year run. The event brought $9,500 Friday night at the Quality Hotel and Suites.
Marketing and Fund Development Coordinator Liz Wismer-Van Meer says the funds are much needed for the organization.
"It is really humbling and it really touches us because we don't receive any government funding. Events like this and sponsorships and donations are really important so we can continue to reach more children in Woodstock.
Van Meer adds that last minute ticket donations to a Toronto Raptors game valued at nearly $1000 helped boost the nights efforts.
The first trivia night 14 years ago had just 5 teams, Van Meer says that this year there was a record number of participants
"We had 30 teams participating so it was a packed house, it was great, lots of fun and there were a lot of great answers for the trivia."
The coveted Trivia Trophy went to "Team Lucille" followed by "Liz’s Has Beens" in second and last year's champions "The Smarty Pants" finished in third place.
