Police have made an arrest after the attempted car jacking of a senior citizen in downtown Paris Tuesday morning.
PARIS - Brant OPP have made an arrest after a daytime robbery involving a senior citizen.
Police were called to a robbery in progress in downtown Paris Tuesday morning around 10:13 am. According to police a person not known to the elderly victim tried to take her car. The suspect was located on a nearby street.
25 year old Maegan Rose Chantal Tremblay of no fixed address has been charged with the following:
- Robbery with weapon,
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose,
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance - Opioid,
- Possession property obtained by crime under $5000 (three counts),
- Theft under $5000 - shoplifting,
- Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle.
The County of Brant OPP Crime Unit and Community Street Crime Unit are continuing to investigate and are seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Brant County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
