A 53-year-old has been arrested and charged after a stabbing in downtown Woodstock earlier this week.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service has made an arrest in connection to a stabbing.
On Monday around 4:00 a.m., police responded to reports of a person who had been stabbed in the area of Finkle Street and Main Street.
Police quickly located and arrested 53-year-old Michael Simons and charged him with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical care.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, a heavy police presence was also seen around Henry Street and Butler Street yesterday.
