"There's something genuinely kind of folksy about [the festival]...It's a nice little welcome wagon from the town of Ingersoll!"
INGERSOLL - Ian Thomas is set to return to Ingersoll's Canterbury Folk Festival.
The man behind the 1973 hit Painted Ladies has numerous performances planned for this coming Saturday.
Thomas describes the Ingersoll festival as charming and low key.
"There's something genuinely kind of folksy about the one in Ingersoll that I quite love and I found most of the artist who came there kind of felt the same. It's kind of a nice little welcome wagon from the town of Ingersoll!"
Thomas has a busy schedule planned for this coming Saturday:
12:30 p.m. - Travelling Canada Workshop at Gazebo Stage
1:30 p.m. - This Land is Your Land at East Stage
2:30 p.m. - Oh What a Tale at West Stage
9 p.m. - Main stage performance at Yvonne Hunt Memorial Stage
Thomas says we can expect to hear some of the hits and some new music as well.
"I've become to realize I've inadvertently become part of the soundtrack of some peoples lives - certainly my own generation, and that's really kind of a privilege. There's the premise of hearing some things you're familiar with and hopefully some things that are just interesting to listen to."
The festival begins today.
