The unionized workers voted in favour of job action if a deal is not reached by next Tuesday.
INGERSOLL - The bargaining has begun between General Motors and Unifor.
Unifor President Lana Payne says the union is trying to get better pay, job security and better pension plans for its members working at CAMI in Ingersoll.
More than 1,300 hourly employees work at the plant, which is the only large-scale electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Canada.
The pressure is on for a deal to be reached because the unionized workers have voted 97 percent in favour of job action if nothing happens by September 17th.
