Merchants take first game of Hwy 59 series

The Norwich Merchants took game one of the "Battle of Highway 59” series for this season beating the Navy Vets in Woodstock 5-3.

Norwich scored 3 goals in the 1st period and added one in the 2nd to take a 4-0 lead into the 3rd period ... then the Navy Vets poured it on scoring 3 goals in just over 5 minutes early in the period to cut the score to 4-3.

The Merchants scored a goal with just over 4 minutes left to clinch the win.
