A night of delicious food and live entertainment will help support the fight against diabetes.
WOODSTOCK - A fundraising barbeque dinner at Sally Creek Golf and Bistro is being held with the proceeds supporting Team Diabetes Canada.
The fundraiser will be on Saturday July 29 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will have live entertainment.
Tony Titizian tells Heart FM the team makes several commitments throughout the year to support the cause.
"Members of Team Diabetes they individually pledge an amount of money they bring together for the cause. All of them also pledge to push themselves to their limit and to accomplish a physical goal. It's been a marathon in the past and hiking up a volcano."
This year the team is heading to Portugal to climb a mountain.
Titizian says over 6,000 people in Woodstock are living with diabetes.
"Sadly, yeah, it is growing astronomically. Every 30 minutes one Canadian gets diagnosed with diabetes. So what better way to go out and support the cause, at the same time have a great meal, enjoy some live entertainment at Sally Creek Golf and Bistro."
Tickets are $40 per person - reserve tickets call Sally Creek and Bistro.
Every dollar raised will be matched by Green Private Wealth Counsel.
