The generosity of the Van Haeren family has come through for the community once again. Bill Van Haeren is renovating some of his office space on Dundas St. for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Executive Director Diane Hatfield says she was just calling around looking for affordable office space, and Van Haeren called her back, not only offering space, but offering to renovate at his cost. She says it will more than triple their current space, "he thought he could make this work, so it's a wonderful opportunity for us. And it will give us now approximately 2700 square feet were right now we're in about 700 square feet. So it's going to be huge for us; we'll have our own boardroom, we'll have our program area. We're just thrilled". Hatfield says it will also be a benefit to the Oxford/Elgin Child and Youth agency, "they needed the space that we had because they are expanding their program and they needed more interview rooms. And it was a good opportunity. It was time for us to go anyway". They're expecting to make the move at the end of the month. And they won't have far to go, they're moving from 912 Dundas to 787.
