Big Brothers Big Sisters Get a New Look

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford Team (submitted)

A new day and a new look for Big Brothers Big Sisters across Canada. The non for profit is unveiling a new logo and colours today as part of a rebranding.

WOODSTOCK - Big Brothers Big Sisters are launching a new brand and new colours nationwide today.

Executive Director of the Oxford Branch Kristen Ralph says her staff is helping to promote this with blue hair extensions.

"We are getting a new brand, new colours new everything, so we are excited to be partnering with creative images hair studio to find a creative way to market that new brand."

Owner of Creative Images Carrie Robinson explains why they offered their services yesterday free of charge.

"Anything we can do to help local organizations is something we want to do, hopefully people will seek them out and see the colour and ask a question to see what their doing with them."

Ralph says Big Brothers Big Sisters will be launching a video today to promote the new branding.

"So we will be posting a new video this morning that explains our new brand really publishes it out to the entire country, we're challenging everybody to like, share, comment to get it as far as we can."

The new look is a call to action for Canadians to be a part of something bigger, a movement to prove how critical relationships are to our success, mental health and wellbeing.

The logo’s three lines showcase the three players who help a young person forge a new path forward: the family, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the volunteer mentor (the “Big”). The new look and brand reflect months of research and consultation with over 3,500 volunteer mentors, young people (“Littles”), parents and guardians, mentoring leaders, and members of the general public from coast to coast. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada worked with Bain & Co. and Barkley on the research and brand transformation.

Ralph says they will continue to offer the same services and programs in Oxford County. She notes they currently serve almost a 1,000 kids in the County.

"We almost have 200 kids on our waitlist for all of our programs and we are on track to serve between 800 to a 1000 kids in Oxford County this year, through all of our programs.

Ralph says they are always seeking out more volunteers to serve as mentors for the kids. You can find more information  on how to volunteer on their website.
