High school students are ready to pack the plex tomorrow for the annual United Way Stair Climb.
WOODSTOCK - High school students from all over Oxford are pumped to cheer on their schools for the United Way Stair Climb at the Woodstock Complex tomorrow.
This year makes it the 15th annual Stair Climb and earplugs may be needed as the volume inside the Woodstock Community Complex will be through the roof on November, 1st. The goal this year is to raise over $40,000 and all proceeds from the starling will be added to the $1.2 million campaign goal the United Way has set for 2018. The Stair Climb is a great opportunity for the students to donate to the United Way and get out of school to cheer their school on. With students climbing the flights of stairs in the complex along with music playing, activities and more. Mike Crabbe is the Resource Developer at the United Way has more on the event.
"We think its pretty great that the high schools are getting involved in this because, its a great way for them to support our communities. And 100% of the money raised stays in Oxford County to help support people that need it."
Crabbe also adds that the tradition will continue because of its overwhelming success.
"We like traditions so we have a lot of fun games and stuff that we like to do, we like to get some of the students to get down on the ice level with the mascots to do some exciting games and have a chance to win some prizes. And it is a big school spirit event so we ask that all schools come decked out in their spirit wear."
Doors open in the morning at 10:00 with students arriving a little bit before then.
