Trevor Birtch's lawyer appeared in a virtual London courtroom today to answer to the assault charges laid against him. Birtch served as the Mayor of Woodstock for two terms from 2014 to 2022.
UPDATE: The court case against Trevor Birtch has been adjourned once again.
During his brief appearance in court this morning, Birtch's lawyer James Battin requested that the matter be adjourned until February 13th. He said more disclosure has come in and they haven't been able to review all of it yet, citing technical difficulties with a USB stick.
The judge granted his request, so the matter will return to court on Monday February 13th.

LONDON/WOODSTOCK - A former Mayor of Woodstock is due back in a virtual London courtroom today.
Trevor Birtch will answer to the assault charges laid against him in two London Police investigations last year.
He's facing one count of assault and two counts of sexual assault in the first case that started making headlines in February 2022. The second set of charges were laid in April 2022 and he's facing three counts of sexual assault in that investigation.
Birtch served as the Mayor of Woodstock for two terms. He was first elected in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018, but he finished in fourth place in the 2022 mayoral race with just over 300 votes.
Heart FM will be covering today's court appearance and we will provide more details as soon as they're available.
