You can enjoy Black Friday deals today in Oxford County while helping boost our local economy.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's Black Friday, but you don't have to leave Oxford County to find a great deal or a great Christmas present.
Tourism Specialist with Oxford County Meredith Maywood says when you shop local, you are supporting your community.
"A lot of people think about going shopping at a big large venue but you don't have to do that to find truly unique gifts. You benefit from finding something unique and also supporting your community and making a connection with your community by shopping local. When you support a local business you are supporting all of the positions involved at that business. The money also stays local, it helps the community grow and it makes a vibrant community, which we all benefit from."
Maywood says Oxford County is full of amazing shops where you can get a unique one of a kind Christmas gift.
"You can visit local artisans and get something actually made here, whether that is an advent calendar that was made here or buying a piece of art. Consider even doing an experience with people, taking your friends out for an art class or a dinner or making your own batch of truffles. There is so many places that you can go to to buy unique gifts or to do unique things together right here in Oxford County."
