Mark Peterson would like to serve a fifth term as the Mayor of Blandford-Blenheim Township.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - There is a familiar face running for Mayor of Blandford-Blenheim.
Mark Peterson is looking to regain the Mayor's seat on Council during the upcoming election. He's currently serving his fourth term as the Mayor and he served two terms as a councillor beforehand.
"The main reason I got into politics is because I hear people complaining all the time, and I didn't want to be that person. I wanted to be the person that tries to do something about it rather than just complaining about it."
During his time as Mayor he says being able to get accessible playgrounds throughout the Township, as well as a new ladder truck for the fire department. Peterson says what he will try to do if re-elected.
"Something I want to try to keep going is try to be responsible with raising taxes to a minimum as you can."
Peterson mentions he the type of person to always volunteer and keep busy. Outside of politics, he coached minor ball, was a Lion's Club member and he was a volunteer firefighter in Drumbo for 17 years.
Ballots will be cast in the municipal election on October 26th.
