Toyota Boshoku's donation to the Baby Alex Teddy Bear Drive gives a much needed push to reach goal.
Another generous donation has put the 4th Annual Baby Alex Teddy Bear Drive over the top.
Toyota Boshoku Woodstock and Elmira handed over a cheque for $4,229, surpassing their donation from last year by almost $1,000.
Organizer and mother of Baby Alex, Mary Rodrigues says she is in "shock and awe of all of the staff that work at Toyota Boshoku".
Rodrigues announced totals from this year's Drive on the Lainger & Liz show Friday morning. 764 stuffed animals were dropped off at a number of locations along with an unbelievable $6,733 in monetary donations.
Rodrigues broke down this year's donations:
-stuffed animals were donated from École Ste-Marguerite-Bourgeoys, College Avenue Secondary School, MADD Canada, the kick-off at École secondaire Notre-Dame, Lowe's, William Keller Realty, Giant Tiger Woodstock, 104.7 Heart FM, the Law School at UWO and Sizzler`s in Cambridge.
-$1,133 was collected at some of the locations above, $1,371 was donated by the Woodstock Police Services with $1,000 coming from the Jeff Pincombe Golf Tournament.$4,229 was donated by Toyota Boshoku in Woodstock and Elmira.
With the stuffed animals already donated and the cash donations that were collected, the goal of 2,000 stuffies is within reach. The funds raised are used to purchase stuffed animals and prepare care packages that are donated to the Woodstock Hospital Foundation and London Children's Hospital.
Rodrigues is now preparing for the the MADD Canada Red Ribbon Campaign. "November 1st at 2:00 pm at Museum Square will be the launch of the Red Ribbon Campaign. So we hope people can come down and see it. We'll have Mayor Sobeski, myself, some Police, some Fire and some EMS will be speaking as well".
