The Province of Ontario has officially moved into stage 2 for approved regions.
BRANT COUNTY - The Province of Ontario has officially moved into phase 2 for approved regions.
The only nearby region that will not be moving into Phase 2 is Haldimand Norfolk. Stage 2 means we can visit includes patios, hair salons, shopping malls, tattoo parlours, splash pads and so much more. You can find more information online here. Each municipality can set their own boundaries and the City of Woodstock released their plan on Wednesday which you can read here.

The County of Brant announced their plans yesterday afternoon and the following places will open today:
- Outdoor team sports may resume for training purposes only. Scrimmages and games are not permitted. Physical distancing is required. Sports fields will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the sports fields that are currently open. More information regarding rental requests will be announced shortly.
- Pickleball play will resume at the Paris District High School tennis courts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
- The following public washrooms will be available to the public. Please note, the frequency of cleaning has been increased and please wash/sanitize your hands upon entry and exit of the washroom. Physical distancing is required while waiting in line.
Lions Park Paris, Amphitheatre area, 36 Laurel St. Paris is open 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 7 days per week. If you are downtown Paris and needing a washroom, please access this via the Mechanic Street footbridge. Penman’s Dam, at Elm St. and Willow St., Paris. The portable washroom is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Paris District High School Tennis Courts, Patrick St., Paris. The portable washroom is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Bean Park, 4 Spencer St., Paris. The portable washroom is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- South Dumfries Community Centre, 7 Gaukel Dr., St. George, is open 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 7 days per week.
- Eric Thomlinson River Access on Forbes Dr., Glen Morris (in the parking lot). The portable washroom is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Mt. Pleasant Park, 555 Burtch Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The portable washroom is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
As of June 13, 2020
- Mt. Pleasant Nature Park, 755 Mt. Pleasant Road will be re-open 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 7 days per week.
The following amenities are under review and further consideration is needed:
- The decision to re-open the outdoor Paris community pool and community splash pads is currently under review. Additional information will be shared in the near future.
- The County of Brant Council will review how to extend outdoor patios onto public spaces adjacent to restaurant and cafes. Please stay tuned for more information.
- Additional information about the Paris and St. George Lawn Bowling Clubs will be shared in the coming weeks.
- The Burford Optimist Shelter public washroom will reopen once more information is received and this date will be shared in the coming weeks.
The following amenities will remain closed:
- Community Centres remain closed as recreational activities are still restricted at indoor facilities.
- Please note, the Province of Ontario has not authorized the re-opening of playgrounds, play structures and outdoor fitness equipment and these amenities remain closed.
