Police say the two people charged with manslaughter were related to the young victim.
BRANTFORD - Two people have been charged with manslaughter after the death of a young child in Brantford in February.
The two people charged are relatives of the victim. Police launched an investigation into the young child's death on February 12th. Initially the two relatives were charged with criminal negligence causing death. Those charges have been upgraded to manslaughter. The upgraded charges are the result of new information and further investigation from police.
Investigators have been working with the Coroner's office and the Centre of Forensic Sciences to determine the cause of death. The case is under a publication ban and no other details will be released at this time.
