The people have spoken and they really, really like Brock's Beard.
WOODSTOCK - Brocks Beard has won the People's Choice Award from the Woodstock Art Gallery.
Local Artist Natalie Brock beat out 23 other works from the Visual Elements 58 exhibition to earn the award. Brock tells Heart FM she included a poem with her piece that reflects why she painted that particular picture.
"I thought the poem would be an interesting way to kind of capture how I was seeing this person, who was this person to me and I wanted to see other people could of put their own spin on it."
The poem reads.
"The Beard that sits upon a face/ Dripping with style and intent/ The face of a fisherman, grandfather, homeless or hipster/ The length flowing as a humble timeline of memories and stories/ Fostered by those who embrace the lifestyle of the bearded/ Ode to the beard that sits upon the face."
Brock will be presented with the award on Friday when the gallery unveil their three new exhibits. The Gallery is having the unveiling and award ceremony at 5 p.m on Friday and it is free to anyone who wants to stop by and check it out.
