Para Ice hockey legend Brad Bowden breaks down last nights 11-0 victory over Korea and explains what Canada and Oxfords Garrett Riley need to do come home with the gold.
Oxford County's Garrett Riley is hoping to follow in Ella Shelton's footsteps and bring home the gold from Beijing.
The Canadian men's para ice hockey team has secured a spot in the gold medal final after beating Korea last night 11-0.
Veterans Tyler McGregor and Billy Bridges did the heavy lifting for the Canucks. McGregor had 4 goals and 2 assists, while Bridges had a hat trick in the win.
Garrett Riley was able to score his first goal for Canada at the Paralympics and seems like a lock to stay in the lineup for the final. Canada will play the United States in the final as the US beat China 11-0 this morning.
Para Ice hockey legend Brad Bowden joined us again today to go over last nights game and break down the gold medal match.
In the interview Bowden discusses the following:
- What it meant for Canada to not only beat Korea last night, but win handedly and the confidence that should give them going into the game against the US.
- He talks about Garrett Riley scoring his first goal for Canada and what it means to do that wearing the Maple Leaf on your chest at the biggest stage.
- How the veterans showed up and dominated against Korea.
- What Canada needs to do to bounce back from the 5-0 loss to the US in the opener and what they need to do to come home with the gold.
