The Canterbury Folk Festival drew record numbers this year.
INGERSOLL - The Canterbury Folk Festival drew record numbers this year.
The free festival has become a staple for a lot of people, but Downtown Coordinator Kathy Boyd says the amount of people they had this year was almost overwhelming. "Over the years we've seen this festival draw as many people as Ingersoll has a population, so during the three days we had over 12,000 people come through the Park, the Comfort Inn was packed this year with people coming from out of town to enjoy the festival.
The park was packed most days with people flocking to the many stages to take in as many of the musical acts as they could. Garth Hudson and Sister Maud played to a full crowd late Saturday night and they came out in droves to see Tia McGraff and Red Moon Road. The Good Lovelies closed the festival out when they took the the stage yesterday afternoon.
The Folk Festival attracted people from all across South Western Ontario and was easily the best attended Folk Festivals in the towns history.
