Don't expect to see this kind of aisle in your local corner store anytime soon.

Premier Wynne says "no" to corner store beer, wine sales but will look at other expansion

Don't expect to be able to buy a 6-pack of beer or a bottle of wine in a convienience store anytime soon.

Premier Kathleen Wynne today ruled out the possiblity of opening liquor sales up to corner stores.

However, the government did say they will look to expand distribution of Ontario beers and wines in specialty stores.  The government will also allow 10 grocery stores to sell some of the product as "test centres" in the near future.

Finance Minister Charles Sousa defends the governments hard stance on the sales of liquor saying the LCBO and Beer Store to a good job of preventing sales to minors.

The Ontario Convenience Stores Association has been calling for their stores to be able to sell wine and beer.
