Central Public School received a lot of community support after items for their Family Fun Day were stolen last weekend. Grade 7 student Robert Jerome helped get the donations organized before they were stolen. "I was kind of disappointed that we had to get [the donations] ready and then we find out that someone broke in and just took them. They didn't have to do the work, so they didn't know how hard it was for us," said Jerome. But the items were more than replaced as donation poured in over the last few days. The Penny Sale (in photo) alone had over 450 prizes, when they usually receive around 150. Fundraiser Coordinator Madeline Huether said the community was more than generous. "I would just like to say thank-you. I can't believe it, we were still processing our donations the morning of. We actually had to delay opening our Penny Sale because of it. So it's just been incredible," said Huether. She hopes the four boys who stole the items have learnt a lesson. "They were so young, they were only 14. That really makes me sad to think that they would do something like that. I'm glad that the Police caught them so that maybe we can get these kids on the right track," said Huether. The four teenagers will appear in court November 22nd under the charges of break and enter and possession of stolen property.
