Charges Laid

Hit & Run case from July finally resolved

A Zorra Township man is facing charges stemming from a hit and run collision this summer.

Back on July 1st, four teenagers were riding their bicycles on the 47th Line in the township, when one of them was struck from behind by a pick-up truck.

One of the cyclists was knocked into the roadside ditch, suffering injuries.

While the driver did stop briefly, he left the scene.

Police put out an appeal to find the driver, and it was initially reported as a stolen vehicle.  However, the owner of the truck reportedly turned himself in last week.

28-year-old Joshua Baer of Zorra is facing charges of Failing to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Bodily Harm and Public Mischief.

He'll be in court November 19th.
