Two coach buses will take people to the Toronto Blue Jays game on Saturday, August 29th.
NORWICH/TORONTO - It's a chance to support the Norwich Optimist Club and cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays as they take on the Seattle Mariners.
The 1st annual Norwich Optimist Community Blue Jays Day will be taking place on Saturday August 29th.
Director Elaine Bridgett says they have reserved over 100 tickets and they have been quite popular.
"We've sold out of the majority of them, but we do have a few of them left! I want to make sure the community knows this event is going on. The Optimist Club does a lot for this community and they put a lot of time and energy into these kind of events, so I want to make sure it's a sold out event."
She says the seats are located in the upper bowl of Rogers Centre.
"The seats are in the 500 section because it was very important for us to make the tickets affordable so entire families could participate."
The tickets cost $70 each and they include your trip to and from Toronto. Two coach buses will leave the Norwich Legion parking lot at 11:00 a.m. and Bridgett says they should be back in Norwich by 11:00 p.m. that evening.
Tickets can be purchased online here.
Bridgett says all of the money raised will go to a great cause.
"Our entire goal is to raise money to help support kids in the community with extra curricular activities and events throughout the year. So we raise money to help give kids access to fun and exciting events in the Norwich and area community."
Bridgett is also encouraging everyone to check out the Norwich Truck and Tractor Pull a couple of weeks before the game, on Friday August 14th and Saturday August 15th.
