Non-profit and charitable volunteer organizations can apply for a community grant in the Friendly City.
Woodstock is accepting its second intake of community grants this year for the Community Grant Program.
The program is now selecting the last intake of applications for the year in order to help local organizations that are helping to improve the community. Mayor of Woodstock Trevor Birtch explains what type of organizations can apply for the grant.
"It's available to volunteer organizations that are non-profit or charitable and we are looking to promote healthy and active programs within the community."
The program has helped organizations in the past such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, who helped pair children with mentors and this springs community Easter Egg Hunt, which was put together by multiple groups in the community. Mayor of Woodstock Trevor Birtch tells Heart FM the program has been a great success.
"If you look back over the years we've given out over a million dollars to help make improvements right here, and how people work, and live and play in the Friendly City."
Applications close September 1st. For more information you can find it online here.
