The City of Woodstock will raise the Ukraine Flag at Museum Square on Thursday with a special ceremony that is open to the public starting at 4:00 pm.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock will raise the Ukraine Flag at Museum Square on Thursday with a special ceremony starting at 4:00 pm.
The City is looking to show their support and compassion for the people of Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict and Russian invasion.
The short program will feature Ivan Jaworsky. Jaworsky is a retired Political Science Professor at the University of Waterloo. He is also an active member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Ukrainian Community.
Jaworsky will be on hand to give some insight into the current situation in Ukraine and how we can help on a local level. The people of Ukraine are in desperate need of amenities and supplies.
The City will be collecting donations to send to Ukraine on Sunday morning. You can drop them off until 5:00 pm Saturday at, Reeves Community Complex, Southside Aquatics Centre, Cowan Sportsplex and Woodstock Museum.
The public is invited to the flag raising ceremony at Museum Square tomorrow.
