WOODSTOCK - Clowning has reared it's ugly head in Woodstock.
Police are investigating after a citizen was chased by two people dressed as clowns in the area of the Springbank overpass. The incident happened on Monday night just before midnight. Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the clowning to contact them.
Sgt Don MacKenzie says the police are taking this very seriously.
"Woodstock Police would like to take this opportunity to caution anyone who may be thinking of engaging in the scary clown craze that their conduct could result in criminal charges and they are putting themselves and the public at risk of personal injury."
Heart FM has received a few calls from listeners who say there are clown threats online in Woodstock. Most of the clown cases in North America have turned out to be a hoax, usually perpetrated by people as some sort of sick and twisted prank. Some areas have banned clown costumes during Halloween this year, however there is no word of that happening in Woodstock at this time.
We will continue to follow this story and will provide you with more information as soon as it becomes available.
