Operation Sharing is hoping for more donations for their Coats for Kids program by the end of November
WOODSTOCK - Operation Sharing's Coats for Kids campaign has seen dwindling numbers this year.
Coordinator of Coats for Kids Sharon Maybee tells Heart FM why she thinks donations are down.
"We have had really nice weather this month and nobody is thinking about cold weather coming on and of course, as we all know, December will certainly bring the cold weather if not in late November."
Maybee says they are really hoping to get some more donations in the next week or two as they hope to hand out the coats to families at the end of November.
"We are looking for hats and mitts and boots and coats and ski pants and also we get a number of other items like scarves and hats. Really we want anything that can help out in the winter and it doesn't have to be just for kids as really it is more coats for families."
The donations are given to families in need in Woodstock and Oxford County and you can drop them off a number of locations in the Friendly City.
"Sobeys, St David's United Church, Zehrs, Oxford County Admin Building downtown, Heart FM, Woodstock Hospital, Canada Trust and Royal Bank on Springbank."
