There could be some temporary relief brewing for a Woodstock coffee retailer. As previously reported, Personal Services Coffee on Ridgeway Circle has been operating in a building that is zoned for industrial use. A complaint was filed to City Hall in late 2012, and the city was set to deal with the issue this week. But as Mayor Pat Sobeski tells Heart FM today, the zone change is expected to be deferred on Thursday night. "The applicant has decided that he will ask for this application to be deferred, and he's going to work with the Planning Dept. to re-write it. They would then come back to council and ask for a temporary permit which would allow 3-years." Applying for a temporary permit buys the owners more time, and possibly 3-more years if council approves the temp permit. If the zone change was defeated, as was being recommended by city planners, the coffee retailer would have been forced to close and find a new location.
