Cold Spring Farms donated $12 000 to help Oxford County's school nutrition program.
THAMESFORD - The School nutrition program in Oxford County received a nice boost from Cold Spring Farms in Thamesford.
Thirty-nine schools take part in the school nutrition program which provides healthy morning snacks and meals to over 10 000 students. Coordinator Kelly Ferguson says the program has been a great success so far.
"Last year we did a survey with students and teachers and the feedback was very positive; students loved having the snacks and trying different foods, they drew great pictures of the things they enjoyed about the program and getting extra fruits and vegetables and teachers felt it was positive and benefited learning and the children's behaviour in schools."
Cold Spring Farms donated $12 000 to the program to help fund kitchen renovations and purchase large and small appliances to help make the snacks for students.
