The Woodstock Community Council awarded the Student Civic Award of Excellence to an upstanding College Ave Secondary School student.
Oxley received the award for her excellent academic standing and involvement in the community.
Deputy Mayor Jerry Acchione tells Heart FM that Oxley is highly involved in the community.
"She is involved with a couple different organizations. She has actually started up one for mental health, kind of a speak-out group. She is very involved with a veterinary clinic, she is going off to veterinary school and her grades are excellent." says Acchione.

"She is very active in the community and stood out from all the entries from all the other high schools, even though we had some great candidates this year to win." says Acchione.
Miss Oxley received 1 thousand dollars and a plaque honouring the award.
