Ingersoll's Mayor is clarifying a quote made in an interview with Heart FM last night. In speaking about the current blockade being staged by the town's union members and Electro-Motive workers, Ted Comiskey said he felt the situation was "crippling" the drive to bring new industry to the region. Comiskey says he meant the possible closure of the plant, not the action being taken by the unions. "When it was implicated 'the crippling by this', it wasn't by the situation that is taking place in Ingersoll, what I was talking about is when we see a large plant potentially moving out...we lose that momentum, we don't want to see this happening." Comiskey says he has the "utmost respect" for the town's union members, and what they've contributed to the community.
