Stratford police laid 12 charges and issued 13 warnings to commercial truck drivers during their latest safety blitz.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation for a truck safety blitz, and pulled 5 trucks from the road as a result.
The blitz happened on Monday with officers directing 22 commercial trucks to an inspection site where they handed things over to 5 Ministry inspectors.
In total 12 charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act and 13 warnings were given for maintenance issues.
The 5 trucks that were taken off the road had major safety infractions including not having chains or straps to secure loads, brake safety, over weight loads, and insurance and licence offences.
This all happened within 5 hours.
