Charlie Kirk was at a speaking event hosted by his Turning Point USA organization, when he was shot
U-S President Donald Trump says his close ally and conservative activist Charlie Kirk has died after being shot in Utah.
Kirk was shot this afternoon while speaking at an event hosted by his conservative youth organization Turning Point U-S-A.
The area's mayor says authorities are still searching for the suspect.
One person was taken into custody at the shooting scene but a source familiar with the investigation says that person was not the suspect.
