Woodstock City Council has awarded the contract for the stormwater management pond to get work done.
WOODSTOCK - The stormwater management pond in Southside Park is about to get some work done.
Woodstock City Council has awarded a construction contract worth $2.8 million to Greenspace Construction to clean out the pond later this year. It will be completely drained before crews start to remove the sediment and start the restoration work.
The construction should begin after Labour Day and it should finish in the spring.
The stormwater management pond not only collects debris and runoff from rain and melted snow, but it also contains waste from the animals that live in and around the pond. The City says this can affect the water quality and pollute the environment.
