Oxford County council has elected to stick with the status quo when it comes to council size. Tillsonburg had asked to have the Warden election on a County wide ballot.
WOODSTOCK - It will be the status quo when it comes to electing the next County Council.
When the provincial government withdrew their threat of unilaterally changing the form of regional governments, local municipalities were tasked with looking at the way they did business and review everything to identify any savings and streamlining if services could be combined.
One area of review was the composition of the 10 person council. Tillsonburg led the charge to have the Warden elected on a County wide ballot while Tillsonburg would get another seat at the table.
The majority of council decided that things were fine just the way they are.
