Crews Respond to Late Night Fuel Spill at Woodstock ONroute

SWOX Fire Chief Rob Serson says about 7,000 litres of fuel leaked in the Woodstock ONroute parking lot last night, after a truck collided with a fuel tanker. No one was hurt.

WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock ONroute was closed for about two hours as crews responded to a fuel spill.

The South-West Oxford Fire Department got the call at around 9:00 p.m. last night.

Chief Rob Serson says a truck collided with a fuel tanker that was carrying 14,500 litres of ethanol. No one was hurt, but the fuel tanker lost about 7,000 litres of the fuel.

South-West Oxford Firefighters were able to contain the spill and they called in the Spills Action Centre for the cleanup.

There is no damage estimate at this time.
