The second largest unused building in Woodstock may have a buyer. A deal is in place, according to an MLS posting, for the John Deere Timberjack building. It's been vacant for 7-years since John Deere left Woodstock. Police investigators assumed the building during the Tori Stafford investigation, but other than that, the 16.6-acres has been sitting idle, until now. The closing date on the deal is July 31st, and while the potential buyer hasn't gone public yet, Development Commissioner Len Magyar says it's likely an industrial buyer. "Typically if somebody is looking to change the zoning they quite often will arrange a meeting or at least have a discussion with our County Planning, or our department with respect to possible options. And since we haven't had those discussions, we have to assume it's an industrial user." Magyar says the property has had as many as a half-dozen offers over the years that have fallen through, but was not surprised something has now panned out. "In our office, we're seeing a huge increase in the amount of activity and the number of inquiries, so it certainly doesn't surprise me that there's been some activity on the Timberjack building." Calls to the selling agent on the property have not been returned. It had an asking price of 2.75-million dollars.
