Current Ward 2 councillor files for re-election in Norwich
NORWICH - Lynne DePlancke has thrown her hat in the ring for the municipal election for a third time.
DePlancke is running for councillor of Ward 2 in Norwich Township. "I feel the need to see things we as a council have started to their finish. The strategic plan for instance is underway now with the construction of our new admin building started and then there's also the continuing of that plan with a centralized Public Works Yard, a new fire hall for Burgessville and of course there is always ongoing upgrades to our road systems."
DePlancke has been a business owner for over 30 years, operating a hair salon out of her residence while serving on council for the past two terms.
If elected next term, DePlancke says keeping taxes down is important to her, even though OMPF cuts, rising police costs and increasing hydro rates make that difficult. "Being on council, I feel as long as you can be open, transparent and fiscally responsible to all the residents and business owners we can all make huge gains even on a tight budget. I think that is important to everyone too."
