Doug Yates, Director - Environment & Energy for GM Canada will also be speaking. He will discuss GM’s goal of 100% renewable energy across all manufacturing facilities by 2050.
Also speaking at the event is Chih-Cheng Chao, Principal, Cantech Environmental Services, whose focus is on zero waste goals and the sustainability impacts of “un-thoughtful” economic activities
Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jay Heaman tells Heart FM they are going to have some really impressive technology on display this year.
"An outdoor electric vehicle showcase - we are going to have a couple of Teslas with the autonomous features people have been reading about. So we might even have a chance for some test drives in the electric vehicles and also the opportunity to see autonomous vehicles in action."
New for 2017 is the Community Futures Oxford Student Competition. The Dragon’s Den styled competition will bring together finalists from local secondary schools to compete on stage for an $800 grand prize donated by Community Futures Oxford.
The Expo is happening this Thursday April 20th from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Oxford Auditorium.
