An investigation in trafficking methamphetamine led officers to Ingersoll where several people were charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
STRATFORD/INGERSOLL - An extensive investigation involving multiple police jurisdictions has led to the arrest of 8 people.
Stratford Police started the investigation into trafficking methamphetamine in May.
Working with Waterloo Regional Police and the Oxford OPP they executed search warrants in Stratford, Kitchener, Cambridge and the Town of Ingersoll on Wednesday.
Five men and three women were arrested and are facing over 30 criminal code and 15 CDSA charges.
Those charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking in methamphetamine, cocaine and possession of stolen property.
This investigation coincides with a CDSA warrant that was executed on Ontario Street, in the City of Stratford on May 12, 2020, in which methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and psilocybin were seized and 15 criminal code and CDSA charges were laid.
No names have been released at this time and the Stratford Police Service would like to extend a thank you to our policing partners at
Waterloo Regional Police Service, and at Oxford County OPP for their assistance and participation in this project, and for the continued joint efforts to making all of our communities a safe place to be.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be laid.
