We have received reports of several smartphones going back one hour last night, a week before Daylight Savings Time is supposed to end.
ONTARIO - You might be waking up a little later this morning if you set your morning alarms on your smartphone.
We've received reports of some smartphones going back one hour last night, a week before the scheduled time change. The Daylight Savings Time is supposed to end on Sunday November 7th at 2:00 a.m.
Few details are available at this time. 680 News is reporting the early time change is affecting Bell customers. We have heard reports of the time change affecting a handful of people using other networks, but those with Bell or Virgin Mobile smartphones seem to be the most affected.
Some have also speculated that the time change is related to an iPhone update.
We'll have more information on this as it becomes available.
The issue is now resolved. If the correct time does not appear, you may need to reboot your phone, go on airplane mode. Thank you for your patience!
