Future Oxford is hosting an electric vehicle session tonight at the Ingersoll Library.
They will be having a panel discussion starting at 7 p.m. You will get to hear from people who have driven an electric vehicle for awhile now and learn about some of the pro's and con's. Manager of Strategic Initiatives Jay Heaman tells Heart FM they will also be doing some demonstrations.
"We are going to talk about electric vehicles and how society is really making a transition away from fossil fuel. We are going to go out and do a little bit of a demo at the new charge stations here in Ingersoll. We are also going to talk about the evolution of electric vehicles, you are starting to see the advent of electric jets now, you are starting to see John Deere develop tractors that will operate full out for four hours, so this is really a turning point for mobility."
Future Oxford is also hosting a drop in session at the Ingersoll Library from 3-6 pm today. You will get a chance to learn about the Future Oxford Sustainability Plan and Oxford's commitment to 100 percent renewable energy.
