Extreme Cold Warning Remains in Place

The overnight wind chill this evening will reach minus 39, with no relief in sight until Friday.

OXFORD COUNTY - The extreme cold warning remains in effect for the region.

Temperatures are expected to dip even lower on Thursday with relief in the forecast on Friday. The overnight wind chill this evening will reach minus 39. The wind chill will remain at minus 38 tomorrow morning and rise to minus 31 in the afternoon.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.

If it's too cold for you to stay outside, it's too cold for your pet to stay outside.

Anyone in need of a place to crash overnight can stop by the Inn of Oxford.

It's an year-round overnight shelter out of Old St Paul's Anglican Church.

About 11 to 15 people stay overnight there during the average winter night.... with the doors opening at 7:30.

The Operation Sharing program would not be possibly without community donations.
